Wrong amounts in statistics

The (Flash) statistics of one of my site shows: "Mollom blocked 1001000 spam attempts (in) the past 8 days".

Is my site really so popular? ;)

Looks like it shows the numbers of each day concatenated as a string instead of added.

Other sites show correct amount

BTW, other sites I registrered with Mollom show an correct, although not consistent with the graph, amount.

Gremlins at work!

That must be a bug, and we'll look into it. Thanks, mo6!

I think I can be more precise

When I got one spam caught, it registered 1
The next day, with no further spam caught (according to my watchdog logs), it told me 10.
The next day, it told me 100
The next day, 1000
The next day, it caught two further spam, so it read 10002
The next day, it caught one more, so it read 100021
Then today it has caught none, so it reads 1000210.

It seems to multiply the number of spam caught by 10 each day, adding on any fresh counts.

Nice system - it means that the number that is being reported shows me not only how many spam I have had caught but (provided I never get more than 10 a day) a day-by-day history of how I got there.

But I don't think it's supposed to work like this. I think my site should just report that Mollom has caught 4 spam messages, not one million, two hundred and ten thousand!

(This fits with the OP. It sounds like they got one spam trapped one day, then another one three days later, then nothing for four days.)

Negative numbers

My site is showing
"Mollom has blocked -834574848 spam attempts in the last 12 days."

I'm pretty sure that's wrong :P I don't understand where that number is coming from, as it's completely unrelated to my site even when it's positive.

It happens to me too

I think JamesOakley is correct; it seems that the number shown is a concatenation of the number of spam attempts blocked.
I don't think it can catch 1,000,000 attempts in 6 days, and 100,000,000 attempts in 8 days. If that would happen, my web site should be the first listed in any Google searches. :-)

This is a duplicate issue

I reported this back in May. See http://mollom.com/node/67. There is no resolution yet, and my site statistics are still completely wrong.

Fixed

Noticed that since Mollom is out of beta this issue is fixed.

Thanks,
George
